SPECIAL WORK SESSION
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Work
Session on Monday, May 18, 2015, at 4 PM, in the Railroad Depot Room, Second Floor, Sanford
City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.
Present: Mayor Jeff Triplett
Vice Mayor Velma Williams
Commissioner Art Woodruff
Commissioner Patty Mahany
City Manager Norton N. Bonaparte, Jr.
City Clerk Cynthia Porter
Absent: Commissioner Randy Jones
City Attorney William L. Colbert
Mayor Triplett called the meeting to order at 4:05 PM.
1. Identify, discuss and come to consensus on what the most important activities of the City
are that can be initiated and/or completed in the next 2 -3 years; facilitated by Dr. Burt
Bertram, Ed.D., Counseling & Consulting.
Dr. Bertram initiated several exercises to involve the Commission in discussion
and by the end of the session four major areas of focus emerged: Land Development,
Community Redevelopment and Empowerment, Budgeting /City Finances and Capital
Projects. [City Clerk Porter left the meeting at the beginning of this discussion.]
The Commission requested that City Manager Bonaparte ask Staff to provide
brief status reports on those items /projects that are already being worked on in their respective
departments.
The Commission will continue discussion on this item at a future Special Work
Session which date is yet to be determined.
