MAYOR'S YOUTH COUNCIL MINUTES

The Mayor's Youth Council met in Regular Meeting on Monday, July 20,
2015, at 12:00 P.M., in the Conference Room, Second Floor, Sanford City Hall, 300
North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.

1 Call to Order.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Amelia Green at 12:08 P.M.
2. Approval of Minutes of July 7, 2015.
Shannan Wilburn moved to approve the Minutes from July 7, 2015. The motion
was seconded by Addison Ramirez and approved by Amelia Green. Shannan Wilburn
attested to this approval.
3. Continue discussion re: Sunshine Laws.

The council discussed this item and will continue discussion at the meeting on
July 28, 2015.
4. Continue discussion re: Council Initiatives.
The council discussed the following initiatives: My Brother's Keeper/Uniting the
youth and Law Enforcement, Job Fair, Environmental protection. The council then
decided to move forward with the My Brother's Keeper/Uniting the youth and Law
0 Enforcement Initiative at this time.

5. Discussion re: My Brother's Keeper/Uniting the youth Initiative Start Date.
The council discussed the following ways to unite the youth with the Law
Enforcement: Sports and games, Help with homework, Gun safety, Bike/Crossing guard
safety, Bullying Awareness.
Taryn Perkins moved to conduct a series of events with the Boy's and Girl's Club
with one large event at the end of the series. The motion was seconded by Addison
Ramirez and carried unanimously.
The council discussed starting this series of events around September 2, 2015
and continuing events monthly to end the series around December. The council will
continue discussion at the meeting on July 28, 2015.
6. Continue discussion re: Meeting Dates.
The council decided upon the following meeting dates: July 28, 2015. After the
July 28th meeting, meetings will continue on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month
from 3:30 — 5:00 P.M.
7. Discussion re: Plans for next meeting.

The council discussed creating a small presentation at the meeting on July 28,
2015 for the commission meeting on August 24.

None.
9. Adjourn.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:53 P.M.
