Park Avenue Item: Board approved the request to modify a previously approved Certificate of Appropriateness to enclose the existing carport with wood frame stucco walls and windows to match existing carport with wood frame stucco walls and windows to match existing. The modification would allow for the installation of windows without transoms to be installed on the east and south elevations. 1214 S. Myrtle Avenue Item: Board approved the request with condition (allow owner the option to use wood or hardy board), to construct a 22'x25' detached garage 300 E. 2 °d Street Item: Board approved the request to install two garage doors (staff allowed to approved the design), a 7'x8' wall on the north side of the building, and 18'6" x 25' canopy on the south side of the building. Minutes Mr. Dieckhaus moved to approve the August 19, 2015 meeting minutes. Ms. Deming seconded. Motion carried 5 -0. Magnolia Avenue based on a finding that the proposed scope of work is consistent with the purpose and intent of Schedule S, and complies with the design guidelines in Schedule S. Ms. Yebba seconded. Magnolia Avenue based on a finding that the proposed scope of work is consistent with the purpose and intent of Schedule S, and complies with the design guidelines in Schedule S. Ms. Agnini seconded. Motion carried 5 -0. Code Enforcement Case Review Ms. Dalton distributed a copy of the Historic District Open Case Report and the Historic District Fine Report. Ms. Deming informed staff the property at 209 E. l 0 1h Street is declining. She also asked for and update on Ms. Kelly's property. Ms. Dalton stated she would check with Code Enforcement and report back. Citizen Participation None. MINUTES — SEPTEMBER 16, 2015 HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD PAGE 2 Staff Reports Ms. Dalton reported the City ranked 13 in the grant review so there will not be any funding received. Ms. Dalton reminded the board of the Lecture Series "Tales from the Crypt" held at the Welcome Center on Thursday, September 17 "'. Ms. Dalton reported there will be a sign up sheet at the lecture on Thursday for anyone who is interested in attending a cemetery workshop /tour, which will be held on Sunday, October 25 Chairman and Board Items for Discussion Mr. Carfagna referenced the email received from the City Attorney about there not being a conflict of interest for board members voting on an item submitted by the Sanford Historic Trust. Mr. Dieckhaus reported he was told no one could find Rabbitfoot because of no signage. Ms. Dalton reported no has applied for a sign permit. Mr. Dieckhaus reported he was told the City would not approve a sign for Sanford Brewery. Ms. Dalton reported it was not within the Historic District so she is not aware of the situation. Ms. Yebba thanked Ms. Dalton for the movie event. Ms. Deming asked if the Police were supposed to be there. Ms. Dalton reported there was some miscommunication and there will be police officers present in the future. Mr. Carfagna asked about the funding for the event. Ms. Dalton reported it is done through sponsorship and plans to ask CRA in October for funding assistance. Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:15 PM.
