05.17.79MINUTES Planning and Zoning Commission May 17, 1979 Members Present: J. Q. Galloway, Chairman C.B. Franklin Jack Bridges Sheila Roberts Cliff Miller Rudy Sloan Bill Royster Members Absent: Jan Freeman Tom Wilson Others Present: Al Payne, Zoning Director_ Mack LaZenby, City Engineer /Utility Director The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. in the Commission Room at City Hall, Sanford, FL. The first item for discussion was a site plan for an addition of a machine shop and storage area to an existing building (Auto Parts & Supplies) in the GC -2 zoned district at 2858 Sanford Ave. represented by Bob Roth. After a short discussion, Mr. Franklin moved to approve the plan. Mr. Royster seconded. Motion carried. The next item for discussion was a site plan for a 12,000 sq. ft. warehouse in the MI -2 zoned district at 901 Cornwall Road, on south side of Cornwall Road, half -way between Sanford Ave. and Mellonville Ave. Mr. White was present to represent the request. There was discussion on the type of landscaping and Mr. White explained the`fron t has sable palms and the area around from the road to the building will be maintained as grass and is at present, sodded. There will be paving between the buildings for trucks. Mr. Sloan moved to approve the plan as presented. Mrs. Roberts seconded. Motion carried. The next item was a site plan for an additionto an existing building (former Simon's Clinical Lab) in the RMOI zoned district at 240 -242 San Marcos Ave., represented by Dr. Edwards. He ex- plained the plan is to convert the present 1700 sq. ft. building into two 1200 sq. ft. offices. Changes were made in the parking in order to conform to requirements. An alternate plan was shown by Mack LaZenby, which would conform to requirements contingent upon the City Commission's approval of closing the adjacent alley. Mr. Franklin moved to approve the revised plan or the alternate plan, depending on City Commission action on the city property in question. Mr. Sloan seconded. Motion carried. MINUTES- Planning & Zoning Commission - May 17, 1979 Page 2 The next item was a request from Mr. R.0 Andersohn for a Home Occupation of "Residential Contractor ", telephone service only, at 1901 W. 4th St. Mr. Andersohn was present and stated he had signed the home occupation agreement and would adhere to the reg- ;ulations. Mr. Royster moved to approve. Mr. Franklin seconded. Motion carried. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. J. Q.
