08.05.76MINUTES Planning and Zoning Commission August 5, 1976 8:00 P.M. Members Present: Arthur Harris, Chairman Bob Karns J. Q. Galloway Jeff Davis Jack Bridges Members Absent: Vic Gischler Rudy Sloan Wm. Royster C. B. Franklin Others Present: John Steffens, Zoning Inspector The meeting was opened at 8:00 P.M. by the Chairman, Arthur Harris. The first item on the agenda was a site plan for a for electronics repair at 9th & Maple, represented parking was discussed and some changes suggested ti area to allow more space for parking and allow for to the alley. Mr. Davis moved to approve the plan Mr. Galloway seconded. Motion carried. commercial building by Burt Poole. Mr. Karns moved to approve the plan, and to waive the City's off - street parking requirement 18 months, or until the permanent building is built, whichever comes first. Mr. Davis seconded. Motion carried. The next item on the agenda was a site plan for a botanical sales and display at 2nd & Laurel. After looking at the site plan, Mr. Davis moved to approve, Mr. Bridges seconded. Motion carried. The next item for discussion was a request to use Lot 1, 2, 3 and 23, Dreamwold, at the corner of Osceola Dr. & Sarita St. as a parking lot for Bahama Joe's Restaurant. It was determined that the request could not be granted under the present zoning..Mr. Earl Higginbotham was present to speak in opposition of the request. The next r+ -quest was-= .far for the sale of beer and wine for consumption off the premises at 801 Celery Ave. Mr. Bridges moved to approve, Mr. Davis seconded. Motion carried. The next request, from the floor, was a request for a change of use for 603 W. 27th St. to a retail paint sales store, by Mr. Robert Whitaker, who has purchased the property and wishes to move his business fromllO0 W. 1st. St. Mr. Galloway moved to approve the request with the stipulation that the parking and drainage and en- gineering requirements meet City approval.
