Knowles, City Manager The meeting was opened at 8:00 P.M. by the Chairman, Arthur Harris. The first item on the agenda was a Public Hearing to consider re= zoning from MR -1 to GC -2, that property north of 9th St. to RY and west of Maple to RY. All property owners in the area, and within 200 ft. were notified by certified mail (15 total). Notice to Public published in the Evening Herald on August 24, 1976. Mr. Knowles was present to speak in favor of the rezoning and said the present zoning puts a hardship on the people who are in the area, and the rezoning would make the area conforming. Mr. Royster moved to recommend the rezoning, Mr. Galloway seconded. Motion carried. The next item was a request for a conditional use, in the RC -1 zoned district, for self- service gas pumps at 1905 Country Club Rd. After discussion on the placement of the self - service pumps, it was deter- mined that placing the pumps on the east side of the building would allow ample parking space. Mr. Galloway moved to approve the request. Mr. Royster seconded, motion carried. There was no representation for a hame occupation at 1513 W. 16th St. or for Mac's Electric Service. The revised site plan for Auto Train for a permanent building at 3rd & Persimmon was cancelled by the proponent before the meeting. The minutes from the previous meeting were approved as mailed.
