MEETING
Please be advised that the Interim City Manager, Mr. Tom George, will be
conducting a meeting with Mr. Bernard Mitchell on Thursday, March 11, 2010,
at 1:00 p.m., in the Railroad Depot Room, 2" Floor, City Hall, 300 North Park
Avenue, Sanford, Florida. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss matters
related to the Wastewater Discharge Permit Application as it relates to the
Mitchell & Mitchell Mortuary, 819 W. 1 St Street, Sanford, Florida.
Please be further advised that more than one member of the City Commission
may be attending the meeting noted above.
Members of the City Commission engaged in the above meeting will ensure
that the Sunshine Law of the State of Florida is not violated. Actions of the City
Commission will occur at duly noticed, open and public, meetings of the City
Commission in accordance with the Open Meetings Law of the State of
Florida.
Although no action will be taken at the subject events, all persons are hereby advised
that, pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, Any person desiring to appeal
any decision made by the City Commission, with respect to any matter considered at
any meeting or hearing, will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure
that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which includes the testimony and
evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. This record is not provided by the City
of Sanford.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons with disabilities
needing assistance to participate in any of these proceedings should contact the City
Clerk at 407.688.5010 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.

MEETING
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met on Thursday,
March 11, 2010, at 1 PM, in the Railroad Depot Room, 2 nd Floor City Hall, 300 North
Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.
Present: Mayor Linda Kuhn
Commissioner Velma Williams
Interim City Manager Tom George
Absent: Vice Mayor Art Woodruff
Commissioner Randy Jones

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss matters related to the Wastewater Discharge
Permit Application as it relates to the Mitchell & Mitchell Mortuary, 819 W. 1 St Street,
Sanford, Florida.
Bernard Mitchell questioned if his operation and disposal methods
exceeded the minimum threshold for pre treatment prior to discharge into the City system
or for collection and disposal by specialized companies. He also questioned the timing
and uniformity of the application of these treatment/disposal requirements throughout the
City especially to existing mortuaries and funeral parlors.
It was agreed that Staff will follow up with additional visits to the business
to determine needs, provide assistance with the permit application, and provide
0 information concerning collection companies if necessary.
