11.19.70Minutes Zoning and Planning Commission November 19, 1970 Members Present: Mr. Arthur Harris, Chairman Mr. Robert Karns Mr. Jeff Davis Mr. James Rowe Mr. David Berrien Mr. Bert Hollingsworth Mr. Edward Blacksheare Members Absent: Mr. James Dycus Mr. B. C. Conklin The meeting was called to order by the chairman. The water, sewage, drainage and street plans of Washington Oaks, Section One ( Formerly Hallmark S /D) were presented to the Commission for review and it was the concensus of the members that additional information was needed before further action could be taken. The matter was tabled until the information was made available. Consideration was given to the zoning of Lots - 1,2,8,9 and 10, Block 9, Pine Level Subdivision. Mr. Karns moved that the said lots be zoned R- 5,(One and two family dwelling district), seconded by Mr. Hollingsworth and duly carried. The study of the east -west streets in the Georgetown section was next on the agenda and the following streets were suggested for possible closing pending further study: 11th Street - from Sanford Ave. to Bay Ave. 10th Street - from Orange to Willow Ave. 9th Street - from Pine to Willow 8th Street - from Cypress to Hickory Consideration was given to the revised Preliminary Plat of the Academy Manor Addition as presented by Mr. Wick Austin and Mr. Leon F. Henrick, After considerable discussion it was moved by Mr. Davis that the Preliminary Plat be approved based on completion of the requirements as set forth in the i Zoning and Planning Commission Minutes - November 19, 1970 Page 2 minutes of the November 5, 1970 meeting. Seconded by Mr. Berrien and carried. Mr. Austin asked that the Zoning and Planning Commission make an inquiry of the City Commission as to the possibility of an exchange for the required 13th Street Extension, for the vacating of McCracken Road from Persimmon Ave. west to Grapeville Ave. It was moved by Mr. Karns that the inquiry be made. Seconded by Mr. Davis and carried. The Zoning Plan for the City of Sanford was taken into consideration and it was decided that the Zoning and Planning Commission should set aside one entire meeting to study the updating of the Zoning Ordinance and that perhaps this could be done at the next meeting. Mr. Hollingsworth moved that the minutes of the meeting of November 5, 1970 be approved as submitted. Seconded by Mr. Davis and carried.
