12.17.70Zoning & Planning Commission Minutes December 17, 1970 Members Present: Arthur Harris, Chairman Jeff Davis Jim Rowe Dave Berrien Members Absent: B. C. Conklin Bert Hollingsworth Edward Blacksheare James Dycus Robert E. Karns Others Present: Martin Gainor, City Planner W. E. Knowles, City Manager Darwin Nutt, Developer There being only four members present no official meeting was held. A general discussion period was held with the following results: Mr. Darwin Nutt, developer of Washington Oaks Subdivision presented the final plat for consideration by the Board and as all the requirements listed in the meeting of November 5, 1970 had been met it would after being viewed by at least two members other than the ones present be presented to the City Commission. A discussion of the Georgetown paving was brought up and after considerable discussion it was decided that after the study completed by the Zoning and Planning Commission that it would not be feasible to close the streets in this area. Zoning & Planning Commission December 17, 1970 Page 2 Updating the current Zoning Plan of the City was discussed and it was determined that the City Planner should make a list of the items that needed to be brought up -to -date and submit them at the next meeting. A discussion regarding the 13th Street extension was again brought up and it was decided that the City Manager should contact the School Board regarding Lot 89 which is almost adjacent to Academy Manor Subdivision and see if it would be possible to secure a right of way for the 13th Street Extension. A committee was appointed to study the existing Sign Ordinance and to make suggestions for the revision of this Ordinance. The following were appointed to serve on this committee: Jeff Davis, Jim Rowe and Robert Karns. It was decided that a copy of the Workable Program should be sent to each member of the Zoning and Planning Board to study as the current one will expire June 1, 1971. There being no further business the discussion was adjourned. r
