Knowles, City Manager John Gillon, Building Inspr. Meeting called to order, and the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. Requests of Mr. Howard L. Hughes, W. A. Patrick, Thomas Ratliff, Sr., Russell W. Harned and represented by Mr. Perkins, T. B. Ball, Jr., and J. Brailey Odham to rezone property on French Avenue, south of 25th Street to C -1 was then brought to the board's attention. Mr. Hughes spoke at some length as to the history of the zoning changes of the past two years in the southern section of the city. He cited the need to rezone the present propert� from C -T zone to a C -1 zone due to French Avenue being a commercial highway. Mr. Perkins then requested the above change due to the same reasons. Mr. Charles Morrison, acting as spokesman for the Dreamwold resi- dents, requested that the Zoning and Planning Commission leave the requested property in the C -T zone in order to preserve the resi- dential value of the property within the Dreamwold Sub - division. He reminded the Commission that the residents were given this under- standing at the time the C -T zone was create E d in that area. Mr. Morrison was follwed by several of the other residents voicing the same request to leave the area in the C -T zone. All the members of the Zoning and Planning Commission individually spoke in favor of leaving the area in the C -T zone, with the exception of Mr. Jimmy Wright, who disqualified himself, and Mr. Faville, who said he was not familiar with the area. Mr. Wright made the motion to deny all of the regUests. Mr. Collins seconded the motion, and the motion passed. Mr. Sutterfield then appeared in regards to his request to rezone P & Z Commission "Minutes ". - April 5, 1956 - 2 - Lots 12, 13 17 and 18 of Block 20, Dreamwold Sub - division for use as a "trailer park ". Mr. Sutter field spoke at length of the trailer park that is just now outside the city limits, and the desire to increase the trailer park in area. Mr. Brown spoke against extending the trailer park inside the city limits. Mr. Collins moved that the request be denied on the grounds that it was "spot zoning" and there is no need at the present time. Seconded by Mr. Stanley and motion passed. A discussion was then held on the necessity of requiring full 100 -foot l -of -ways for future street construction. Mr. McKibbin recommended that a set -back of at least 50 feet of the center line be required of all future building on the following streets: 1 - Seminole Boulevard - from city limits to Park Avenue 2 - West First Street - from city limits to Park Avenue 3 -- Sanford Avenue - from Seminole Boulevard to the city limits 4 - Park Avenue - from Seminole Boulevard to the city limits 5.- Mellonville Avenue - from Seminole Boulevard to city limits Mr. McKibbin further suggested that a aet -back of 41 feet from the center line be required on: 1 - 20th Street - west to the city limits. 2 - Entire length of 7th Street. 3 - Entire length of 8th Street. 4 - Entire length of 9th Street. No action was taken on the above discussion. There being no further business at hand, meeting adjourned. i s Se r ary
