11.29.56 SpecialSpecial Meeting of the Zoning & Planning Commission November 29 1956 Members present were: Brown, Morgan, Housholder, Lee, McKibbin, Collins, Faville. Also present were: Building Inspector Yelvington, City Manager Knowles, City Commissioners, 'Nilson, Higginbotham, Gatchel, Krider, Warner, Mayor Scott, City Attorney Hutchison, City Clerk Sayer, Assistant Director of Finance Tamm. Bob Brown explained action to date of Zoning and Planning Commission on interviewing city planners, and stated that Mr. Bair had been chosen as the best of those interviewed. Following Mr. Brown, each member of the Zoning and Planning Commission expressed his own thoughts on city planning for Sanford and of the city planners interviewed. Each member concurred in that Mr. Fred Bair was the best choice to act as the planning con- sultant for the city. Commissioner Gatchel suggested that the staff planner should have an engineering background. Commissioner Higginbotham con- curred and stressed a desire to have a young man. The discussion then ended with a belief that the City Com- mission should talk with the recommended city planner, Mr. Bair. Lots 1 through 6, Teague Addition, were discussed on the basis of Mr. Anderson's request. Mr. McKibbin moved that the request be de- nied on the basis of established policy. Seconded by Mr. Morgan and passed. Mr. McKibbin moved that they recommend that Lot 16 of Lane's Addition be rezoned to R -2, thereby extending an existing zone. Seconded by Mr. Faville and passed. The Commission was notified of the resignation of Mr. Grier. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. A hairman e ary
