08.01.57ZONING and PLANNING COMMISSION Regular Meeting August 1, 1957 Members present were: Messers. Brown, McKibbin, Johnson, Morgan, Talley, and Lee. Also present were City Manager Knowles and Building Inspector Yelvington. On a report of Mr. McKibbin and moved by Mr. McKibbin, seconded by Mr. Morgan, the minutes of the previous meetings were approved. Mr. Anderson, Luther's Furniture Store, requested designation of an off- street parking area for a warehouse on the southeast corner of 3rd Street and Poplar Avenue. A set -back of 15 feet, for the entire 50 -foot length on 3rd Street, was approved for off - street parking. There will be only three employees at the warehouse. Mr. N. L. Bishop requested that Lots 157 and 159, Sanfo Park, be rezoned from R1 -AA to C -1 for use of a service station. Mr. Morgan moved to reject the request on the grounds that it is residential property all around this area and that it should re- main so. Seconded by Mr. Johnson and passed. Mr. Brown reported that county zoning is underway and that the county board had requested $15,200.00 for a budget. Mr. McKibbin moved the meeting adjourn.
