City Manager Bonaparte said that he received a letter from Florida Power & Light regarding a rate adjustment. He did not make copies, however, anyone interested in reading it may do so. Mr. Bonaparte said that the City would like to schedule a joint meeting with the Seminole County School Board (SCSB) to discuss the acquisition of the Mellonville property. He said that the SCSB proposed June 14, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the school board office. He asked that the Commission advise him of their availability so that they can move forward with scheduling. 12) CITIZEN PARTICIPATION. Lamar Sanders of Orlando said that his grandmother lives at 1814 Knox Avenue in Ravenna Park. He said that Utilities Inc., provides water service in the area; however, the plant shut down three weeks ago. He has contacted Utilities Inc. but has not received any assistance. For the past several days the water has been brown. The water is causing itchy skin and irritated eyes. He would like to enlist the help of the City. He said that he has also contacted Senator David Simmons office who contacted the Department of Environmental Protection Agency (DEP). CITY COMMISSION MINUTES MAY 99 2016 REGULAR MEETING Mayor Triplett said that the property is in unincorporated Seminole County and is not under the City's jurisdiction but asked Mr. Sanders to leave his contact information so he could make a few calls in the morning to see if he could help. 13) CITY COMMISSIONER'S REPORTS. Commissioner Williams gave thanks to Leisure Services Director Mike Kirby for always supporting the senior citizens. She also distributed a letter that she received from the Orlando Housing Authority President, Vivian Bryant, indicating that the developer, Gardner Capital was able to secure tax credit funding for the redevelopment of Redding Gardens. Commissioner Mahany said that the St. Johns River of the Arts Festival was a great success and that approximately 35,000 people were in attendance over the two day event. She also mentioned that she has secured private funding for a chainsaw artist to provide the City's first piece of public art in Paw Park. Commissioner Woodruff distributed a handout regarding Hopper Academy and asked the Commission to consider contributing $70,000 to the Hopper Academy project, as fundraising did not go as planned and additional funding is needed to complete the project. He spoke to Andrew Thomas who offered CDBG funding in the amount of $24,000 which was initially set aside for a project that did not follow through. This would reduce the City's contribution to $46,000.
