The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Meeting on
Monday, June 27, 2016, at 7:00 PM, in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall, 300 North Park
Avenue, Sanford, Florida.

appropriate document to allow 50% of the impact fees related to this project to be deferred for no

9) CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT.

11) CITY MANAGER'S REPORT.
Mr. Bonaparte said that the follow up to Commissioner Woodruff s request at
today's Work Session regarding Hopper Academy is to ask the City Attorney to prepare a
mortgage agreement that will allow the City to expend funds in the form of a loan for the Hopper
Academy. The funds will come from the Little Red Schoolhouse insurance proceeds and is to be
paid back when state funds are received and is to go back into the Little Red Schoolhouse proceeds
along with the interest.
Mr. Bonaparte also reminded the residents that the City will be hosting a July 4th
event; June 29, 2016 there will be a Vietnam Veteran's Luncheon held at the Civic Center; and
there is a vacancy on the Sanford Housing Authority Board which is the Mayor's appointment.
Mayor Triplett asked the Commission to submit any applicants that they have in mind for this
position to the City Clerk or himself as he would like this filled by the end of next month.

13) CITY COMMISSIONER'S REPORTS.
Mayor Triplett addressed the carjacking incident that occurred over the weekend.
He gave thanks to everyone that reached out to him through texts, phone calls and emails. He also
thanked the Sanford Police Department. He said that they were prompt, professional and
courteous.

Commissioner Mahany asked Mayor Triplett if he or the City has reached out to
Orlando Mayor, Buddy Dyer, regarding the Orlando incident. Mayor Triplett said that he is
scheduled to meet with him next week and will personally speak to him on behalf of the
Commission.
