The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Work
Session on Monday, August 22, 2016, at 4:45 PM, in the Railroad Depot Room, 2 °d
Floor, City Hall, and 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.

Mayor Triplett called the meeting to order at 4:54 PM.
1. Discussion re: Sanford Housing Authority — Choice Neighborhood Award
Vivian Bryant, President of the Sanford Housing Authority (SHA),
introduced Gayle Epp of EJP Consulting who said that the Sanford Housing Authority,
with the City of Sanford as co- applicant, was recently awarded a $500,000 Choice
Neighborhoods Planning Grant to support a 24 -month planning process in the Golsboro
neighborhood. She distributed and reviewed a handout that outlined the planning
process. Ms. Bryant stated that the grant agreement needs to be submitted no later than
September 9, 2016. City Attorney Colbert said that he will review the agreement by the
end of the week in order to meet the September 91h deadline.

City Attorney Colbert explained that this resolution will allow the City
Manager to accept works of art without coming before the Commission. This is an action

WORK SESSION
Parks and Grounds Operations Manager Robert Beall distributed a
handout that included three quotes for the replacement gazebo at Centennial Park. He
said that staff's recommendation is Option 1. He said that he will present this to HPB and
if all parties are in agreement, staff will move forward with Option 1.
