Dear Sir;
The asphalt shingles roof covering for the subject residence has been field- inspected by
my self, after its completion. The purpose of this inspection was to determine the level
of code conformance for roof coverings.
The one - story-high roof has 3/12 slope. A careful inspection has revealed the following:
A) The existing 1x6 wood deck is adequately re- nailed using additional 8d ring -
shanked nails spaced at 4" o.c.
B) The roof deck is covered with double layers of ASTM D 226 Type2 (30 -lbs) felt,
properly tin - tagged using 11 ga., 1 11" long ring - shanked roofing nails spaced 6"
and 12" o.c., on the laps and in field, respectively.
C) All 26 ga. galvanized flashing and drip edges are adequately overlapped and
installed using 12 ga. 1 -1/4" MDA approved roofing nails spaced at 4" o.c.
D) Nail penetrations of drip edges are provided with 8" wide starter row membrane.
Therefore, this letter is to certify that deck re- nailing, installation of roof metals,
exposure and course layout of Owens Corning asphalt shingles are properly
completed, using (6)12 ga. 1'/" long ring - shanked roofing nails per accordance with requirements of 2007 Revisions to 2004 Florida Building Code.
