City Manager Comments 4:55 — 5:00 PM CITY COMMISSION MINUTES JANUARY 23, 201'7 WORK SESSION The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Work Session on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 4:00 PM, in the Railroad Depot Room, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida. Present: Mayor Jeff Triplett Vice Mayor Randy Jones Commissioner Art Woodruff Commissioner Patty Mahany City Manager Norton N. Bonaparte, Jr. City Attorney William L. Colbert City Clerk Cynthia Porter Deputy City Clerk Traci Houchin Absent: Commissioner Velma Williams Mayor Triplett called the meeting to order at 4:06 PM. 1. Presentation by Planning and Development Services Department. Director of Planning and Development Services Russ Gibson presented a powerpoint presentation pertaining to his department. He also distributed a handout that highlighted the most significant projects throughout the City at this time. 2. Regular Meeting Items — additional information A. United Service Workers Union, Local 555 (USW): Wage Article and Budget Amendment Resolution [Commission Memo 17-018] (RM 9.1)) Deputy City Manager Tom George said that an agreement has been reached which is similar to what the general employees received. Due to a few grammatical errors, the pay plan is not available at this time but will be brought forward at the next meeting. This is an action item on tonight's agenda. CITY COMMISSION MINUTES JANUARY 23, 2017 WORK SESSION 3. Briefing Items A. City Manager's Annual Performance Evaluation. Mr. Bonaparte said that he reviewed the evaluations and appreciates the comments and feedback. He said that he would like to meet with each of the Commissioners on an individual basis. Mayor Triplett said that based on the overall score of the evaluation, he recommends a 3% increase retroactive to October 1, 2016. This is an action item on tonight's agenda. 4. City Manager Comments Public Works Manager John Reichardt reviewed the cost to remodel the Commission Chambers along with several photos of seating that could be incorporated into the remodel. After a brief discussion, there was a consensus among the Commission to have staff prepare and present a proposal for Commission action. Mr. Bonaparte reminded the Commission that they will be having a Special Work Session on February 6, 2016 at 4:00 PM. Mayor Triplett asked Director of Planning & Development Services Russ Gibson if the replat on tonight's meeting (Item 9.13) requires approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Gibson explained the process and said that it is a requirement and it has gone before the Planning and Zoning Commission.
