The primary element is a steel reinforced high strength precast concrete beam with a U-shaped cross- sectlon, which can be grout filled (poured) or remain empty. Masonry units may be placed on top of this primary beam element and poured with grout to form a deeper section for additional load capacity (steel reinforcement may also be added). MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Precast, non -prestressed lintel for 8" and 12" CMU construction: 3,500 psi (f c) 2. Precast, prestressed lintel for 8" CMU construction: 6,000 psi ft) 3.
