BUDGET WORK SESSION
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Budget Work
Session on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 2:00 PM, in the Railroad Depot Room, 2nd Floor,
City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.
Present: Mayor Jeff Triplett
Vice Mayor Art Woodruff
Commissioner Kerry S. Wiggins, Sr. (Arrived 2:44PM)
Commissioner Patrick Austin
City Manager Norton N. Bonaparte, Jr.
City Clerk Traci Houchin
Deputy City Clerk Cathy LoTempio
Absent: Commissioner Patty Mahany
Mayor Triplett called the meeting to order at 2:09 PM.
Mr. Bonaparte introduced Cindy Lindsay, Finance Director.
1. Introduction of proposed 2019/2020 budget.
Ms. Lindsay presented a power point presentation, "Proposed 2019/2020
budget". Topics discussed included: Budget outlook — revenue and expenditures, use of 3rd
Generation Sales Tax and Stormwater Utility funds, Mellonville Avenue Center
expenditures, tuition reimbursement, utilizing $500,000 from revenue fund for
maintenance items that would be noticed by the public, permit activity, general government
capital improvement projects, COPS grant, fund balance analysis, strategic planning and
ad valorem taxes.
The proposed budget will be submitted to the Commission on Monday,
September 9, 2019.
