1416ORDINANCE NO. 14 16 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 18-20 OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, SAID SECTION BEING ENTITLED RECREATIONAL VEHI- CLES; PARKING OR STORING ON STREETS OR PRIVATE RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY, SAID AMEND- MENT ALLOWING THE PARKING OR STORING OF RECREATIONAL VEHICLES IN CARPORTS, DRIVE- WAYS OR FRONT YARDS WHEN SIDEYARD SETBACKS ARE NOT SUFFICIENT TO ALLOW ACCESSIBILITY TO REAR YARDS. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION h That Section 18-20 of the Sanford City code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 18-20. Recreational Vehicles; parking or storing on streets or private residential property. (a) For the purpose of this. sectiQn, ~he. ~errn "recreational vehicle"' shall mean and include any boat mounted on a trailer, any c~np trail'er, travel irailer or other unit built or mo{uit'ed on a 'vehicle or chassis, without permanent foundation, which is used for temporary dwelling or sleeping purposes and which, under the provisions of applicable Florida Statutes, may be legally driven or towed by a passenger vehicle on a highway; provided the same does not exceed thirty-two (32) feet in length. (b) Any owDer of a recreational vec. hi?!e .may pa.rk or store such eqUipm.ent on private .pr.operty subj'ect t~ the following conditions: (1) If the recreational ve,hicle is parked or stored outside of a garage or building, it shall be parked or stored to the rear building line of the lot, except as follows: (a) When side yard setbacks are not sufficient to allow accessibility to rear yard, recreational vehicles, (including boats on trailers), may be parked or stored in carports, driveways or front yards. (2) Such parked or stored recreational vehicles shall not be occupied or used for living, sleeping, or housekeeping purposes except as provided in paragraph (3) below. (3) The owner of such parked or stored recreational vehicle shall request permission from the city manager, stating the name and place of residence of person desiring to occupy the same; the make, length and state license number of such recreational vehicle and the place where such recreational vehicle will be occupied. Only one permit for three (3) weeks temporary occupancy shall be allowed. (4) A recreational vehicle may be parked anywhere on private residential property for loading or unloading purposes. SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
