AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA;
AMENDING SECTION 4-42 OF THE CITY OF SANFORD
CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO ANIMAL
CONTROL; ADDING A SECTION TO MAKE IT AVIOLATION
FOR ANY ANIMAL OWNER TO ALLOW THEIR ANIMAL TO
DEFECATE IN ANY PARK; PROVIDING THAT OWNERS
ARE-;RESPONSIBLE FOR PROMPT REMOVAL AND
PROPER DISPOSAL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY,
CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Section 4-42 is hereby amended to add a Section 4-42(m), which
reads as follows:
Section 4-42 Violations and Prohibited Acts.
(m) It shall be unlawful for any animal owner to permit their animal to
defecate in any park. Should any animal commit this act, the owner of that
animal will be responsible for prompt removal and proper disposal of said
waste.
SECTION 2: Severability. If any section or portion of a section of this Ordinance
proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional it shall not be held to impair the validity,
force or effect of any other section or part of a section of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. Codification. It is the intention of the City Commission of the City
of Sanford, Florida, and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this Ordinance shall
become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sanford, Florida; that
the Sections of this Ordinance may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish such
intention; that the word, "Ordinance," may be changed to "Section," "Article," or other
appropriate word.
SECTION 4: Conflicts, That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 5: Effective Date. That this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon the its passage and adoption.
