3626 ORDINANCE NO. 3626
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 18, ARTICLE II, OF THE CITY'S
CODE OF ORDINANCES, PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION; AMENDING SECTION 18 1/2-11, MEMBERS,
TO PROVIDE THAT THE COMMISSION MAY APPOINT UP
TO THREE ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING
AND ZONING COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS, CODIFICATION AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford finds it to be in the best
interest of the City to amend Chapter 18, Article II, of the City's Code of Ordinances, by
amending Section 18 'I/2-11 entitled "Members", providing that the Commission may
appoint up to three (3) alternate members to the Planning and Zoning Commission; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Section 18 1/2-11, Members, of Article II, of Chapter 18, Planning and
Zoning Commission, of the City's Code of Ordinances is hereby deleted in its entirety and
amended to read as follows:
"Section 18 1/2-11. Members.
The planning and zoning commission shall consist of nine(9)
members appointed by the City Commission. In addition, the
Commission may appoint up to three (3) alternate members."
SECTION 2: SEVERABILITY If any section or portion of a section of this
Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair
the validity, force or effect of any other action or part of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3: CONFLICTS That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: CODIFICATION It is the intention of the City Commission of the
City of Sanford, Florida, and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this Ordinance
shall become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Sanford,
Florida; that the Sections of this Ordinance may be renumbered or relettered to accomplish
such intention; that the word, "Ordinance," may be changed to "Section," "Article," or other
appropriate word.
SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE That this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon passage and adoption.
