This drawing illustrates the installation requirements for the Slim V Solar Thermal Collectors on buildings in Florida 60 -feet or less in height and at roof angles from flat up to 45 degrees. 2. This requirement does not preclude valid engineering prepared by a licensed Professional Engineer supporting an alternate installation or alternate installation components as deemed acceptable by the Jurisdiction Having Authority. 6. Plumbing shall be per Drawing Sheet 1.2007 Florida Plumbing Code shall be adhered to. Particular attention shall be given to the protection against overpressure and freezing, per Florida Mechanical Code, chapter 12. a. This engineer has determined that the equipment, hold-down hardware and fasteners supplied by Schuco will withstand hurricane force winds up to those depicted in tables on Sheets 4 & S. 8. Lag screw fasteners (Item No. 3) that hold the solar collector system to the underlaying roof substrate (truss or rafter) shall meet the following requirements: a. 3/8" diameter minimum Lag Screws, b. lag screws shall be minimum AISI 304 Stainless Steel, c. shall be of sufficient length to reach at least 2-1/2" of solid embedment into the substrate receiving the point. d.
