AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 3361 AND ITS AMENDMENTS TO PROVIDE FOR THE
DELETION OF ONE (1) "COMMANDER" POSITION IN THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT AND CONCURRENTLY, TO PROVIDE FOR THE
ADDITION OF TVVO (2) "POLICE OFFICER" POSITIONS IN THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS, AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida deems it
necessary to provide for the deletion of one (1) "Commander" position in the Police
Department and to concurrently authodzed the addition 0f two (2) "Police officer' positions
in the Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the preceding clauses am adopted as fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: That the terms of Ordinance No. 3361 are hereby amended.
SECTION 3: That Ordinance No. 3361 be and the same is hereby amended to
provide that the revisions to the Classification and Pay Plan attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
are incorporated herein by reference and are made part of this Ordinance as fully and
completely as though it was fully set forth herein.
SECTION 4: SEVERABILITY; If any section or portion of a section of this Ordinance
proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair the validity,
force or effect of any other section or part of this Ordinance.
SECTION 5: CONFLICTS. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 6: EFFECTIVE DATE. That this ordinance shall be effective December
22, 1997.

Investigation Division are authorized subject to and concurrent with continued grant
funding associated with the "Florida Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Authority"
(FMVTPA) Grant entered into by the Office of the Attorney General (FMVTPA)and the
City of Sanford Police Department.
* NOTE: (1) Temporary Contracts Technician Position and (1) Temporary Part-Time
Secretary Position Authorized in the Community Development Department are
authorized contingent upon and concurrent with continued grant funding via the
