AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING THAT
CERTAIN NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY LYING BETWEEN WEST
14.T" STREET AND WEST 15TM STREET AND BETWEEN OAK
AVENUE AND ELM AVENUE IN THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, RESERVING AN EXCLUSIVE CITY OF SANFORD ;
PUBLIC SERVICES EASEMENT; PROVIDING FOR : ~,:
SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. ~
WHEREAS, an application has been filed wiffi the City of Sanford to close, vacar~;~nd
abandon that certain north-south alley lying between West 14-~ Street and West 159 ~reet

and between Oak Avenue and Elm Avenue in the City of Sanford, Florida, ese
exclusive City of Sanford Public Services Easement; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 27, 1998, for consideration and
determination as to whether or not the closing, vacating and abandoning of that certain
north-south alley lying between West 14-'" Street and West 1St" Street and between Oak
Avenue and Elm Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that the dosing, vacatint;
abandoning of that cefiain property does not conflict with the Comprehensive Plan of

City of Sanford, Florida, and that the public health, economy, comfort, order, convenience,
and welfare will be promoted by such closing, vacating and abandoning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That certain norffi-south alley lying between West 1 ~h Street and Weslc
15~ Street and between Oak Avenue and Elm Avenue, more particularly described as
follows:

Public Records of Seminole County, Florida.
be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned, however, the City hereby reserves
and retains an exclusive City of Sanford Public Services Easemen~ over ~he property described
above and that no structures will be permitted within the easement.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of this ordinance proves co be
invalid, unlawful or unconsrjtu~onal, it shall not be held to impair the validity, force or effect
of any other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.
