WORK SESSION
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Work Session
on Monday, July 27, 2020, at 6:00 PM, in the City Commission Chambers, 1St Floor, City
Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.

Mayor Woodruff called the meeting to order at 6:08 PM.
1. Presentation: Mayfair Golf Course by Tom George, Deputy City Manager.
Mr. Bonaparte asked Mr. George to provide an update on the status of the
Mayfair Golf Course. Mr. George said the golf course has remained open during the
pandemic and the staff and guests have maintained social distancing. Jeff Triplett,
President of Sanford Mayfair Management (SMM) introduced Pete Sands, General
Manager of SMM. Mr. Sands presented a power point presentation regarding the Mayfair
Golf Course profits since March 2020, social distancing guidelines, working with the
community, Fire Department training, Seminole County Inmate Release Program and
sponsorship opportunities for new tee markers throughout the course. Mr. George praised
City staff and the board for all of their time, dedication and hard work that continues to go
into this project.

2. Discussion of 2020 Capital Items by Cindy Lindsay, Finance Director.
Mr. Bonaparte stated that the Capital Items list has been updated since the
Commission last talked about it. After a brief discussion, the Commission agreed on the
list of items to repair/replace this year with an additional $10,000 for three additional
printers that are needed at the Police Department, therefore, making the total amount for
the capital items $352,547.
3. Regular Meeting Items — additional information
Nothing to discuss.
4. Briefing Items
Vice Mayor Wiggins said he has been working with City staff, the Seminole
County School Board, Seminole State College, Sanford Fire Department and Seminole
County Sherriff s Department on a few different programs to help benefit the youth in the
Sanford community. He said these programs include after school programs helping kids
with homework, sports and mentoring. There is also GED programs and computer training
for all ages. These programs will take place at the Mellonville Center and the Boys and
Girls Club. He and Mr. Bonaparte are working with the Parks and Recreation Department
for pricing on items that would need repaired or replaced before the buildings can be used.
The School Board and Seminole State College are going to be handling all the teaching
materials so there will be no cost for those services. In addition, he said the Sherriff's
Department would like to have a food pantry for the kids use. Vice Mayor Wiggins said
the elevator, restrooms and electric are all working at Mellonville, however they made need

to have additional restrooms to handle 100 kids and internet connections. Mr. Bonaparte
said he would provide the Commission with a cost at the next meeting.
