AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 1-9, ENTITLED ADDITIONAL COURT
COSTS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT EDUCATION, OF THE
CITY CODE, AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED BY ORDINANCE
NO. 170'1, TO PROVIDE A $2.00 ADDITIONAL COURT
COST FOR CIVIL TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS AND
VIOLATIONS OF STATE PENAL OR CRIMINAL CODE FOR
LAW ENFORCEMENT EDUCATION AS PROVIDED BY
LAW; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SAN FORD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Section 1-9 of the Sanford City Code, is hereby deleted in its
entirety and the new Sec. 1-9 is adopted as follows:
Sec. '1-9. Additional court costs for law enforcement
education.
There is herewith assessed two dollars ($2.00) of additional
court costs against every person convicted for violation of a
state penal or criminal statute or convicted for violation of a
municipal or county ordinance, except for violation of any state
statute, municipal ordinance, or county ordinance relating to
the parking of vehicles. Said additional court costs shall be
collected and allocated for law enforcement education as
provided in §938.15, Florida Statutes.
SECTION 2: SEVERABILITY. if any section or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair
the validity, force or effect of any other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: CONFLICTS. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: EFFECTIVE DATE. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
