3238 ORDINA2{CE NO. 3238 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3230, AND ITS AMENDMENTS, AND ADOPTING AN AMENDED CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY TOREORGANIZE THEDEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING AND PLANNING AND DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WBERF~S, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, deems it necessary to amend the Classification and Pay Plan to reorganize the Department of Engineering & Planning and Department of Community Development; and WHEREAS, the city Commission Of the City of Sanford, Florida, determines that such reorganization is needed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1= That the preceding clauses are adopted as if fully set forth herein. SECTION 2= That the terms of ordinance NO. 3230 are hereby amended. SECTION 3: That ordinance No. 3230 be and the same is hereby amended to provide that the amendments to the classification and Pay Plan attached hereto as Exhibit "A" are incorporated herein by reference and are made a part of this ordinance as fully and completely as though they were fully set forth herein. SECTION 4: SEVERABILITY. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked. SECTI(~N 5= CONFLICTS. If any section or portion of a section of this Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other section or part of this ordinance. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Enforces municipal and license codes. Issues and renews licenses, alcoholic beverage registrations, contractor registrations and insures that all state requirements have been met. Prepares annual budget for Building, Code Enforcement and Licensing functions. Processes personnel forms and time records. Processes invoices and purchase orders. Prepares and types agendas and legal ads, Coordinates meetings, conferences and appointments. Processes all materials for meetings. Tapes meetings and prepares minutes of specific Board meetings. Screens and routes calls. Briefs supervisor on pertinent information and scheduling of priority matters. Performs other duties as required. KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS & ABILITIES Extensive knowledge of municipal codes and City policies and procedures. Skill in typing very accurately at a moderate to rapid rate of speed. Ability to independently compose correspondence requiring the application of knowledge of methods, pro-' , cedures, policies and other information. Ability to perform complex administrative or research tasks as assigned in an effective manner. Ability to assign work to subordinate employees. Ability to enforce regulations with firmness, tact and impartiality. Ability to deal with public and other employees in an effective and courteous manner. ESSENTIAL MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS Must be HSG or GED equivalent. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in varied secretarial office work to include municipal code enforcement. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Work is performed under general supervision of the Building and Zoning Offical and is reviewed through conferences and reports. SUPERVISION EXERCISED Periodically provides limited supervision to other clerical employees within the department.
