AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3230, AND ITS
AMENDMENTS, AND ADOPTING AN AMENDED
CLASSIYICATION AND PAY PLAN EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY TO ALVFHORIZF. TI-IE REVISION OF THE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUAL1YICATIONS SEGMENT OF
THE "POLICE CHIEF" POSITION DESCRIFFION TO
INCLUDE THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE POLICE
CBIEF MUST ATTAIN AND MAINTAIN RESIDENCE
WITHIN THE. CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SANFORD
WITHIN SIX (6) MONTHS FROM THE EFFECTIVE DATE
OF APPOINTMENT TO THAT POSITION; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS, AND EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, deems it necessary
to amend the Classification and Pay Plan to revise the essential minimum qualifications segment
of the "Police Chief" position description to include the requirement that the Police Chief must
attain and maintain residence within the City limits of the City of Sanford within six (6) months
from the effective date of appointment to that position.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the preceding clause is adopted as fully set forth heroin.
SECTION 2: That the terms of Ordinance No. 3230 are hereby amended.
SECTION 3: That Ordinance No. 3230, be and the same is hereby amended to provide
that the amendments to the Classification and Pay Plan attached hereto as Exhibit "A" are
incorporated heroin by reference and are made part of this Ordinance as fully and completely
as though they were fully set forth heroin.
SECTION 4: CONFLICTS. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 5: SEVERABILITY. If any section or portion of a section of this Ordinance
proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair the validity,
force or effect of any other section or part of a section of this Ordinance.
SECTION 6: EFFECTIVE DATE. That this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
