06-28-2021 WS MinutesCITY COMMISSION MINUTES (ZM "** 7 q, ia. aoa I JUNE 289 2021 WORK SESSION MEETING The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Work Session on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 5:00 PM, in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida. Present: Mayor Art Woodruff Vice Mayor Kerry Wiggins Commissioner Sheena Britton Commissioner Patrick Austin City Manager Norton N. Bonaparte, Jr. City Attorney William L. Colbert City Clerk Traci Houchin Absent: Commissioner Patty Mahany Deputy City Clerk Cathy LoTempio Mayor Woodruff called the meeting to order at 5:09 PM. 1. Presentation by Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma Sheriff Lemma said that it is a privilege to live and work in Seminole County. There is a great collaboration throughout the county to take on society's most pressing issues. The opioid epidemic has had a devastating effect on our community and our country. The Seminole County Sheriffs Department along with other local municipalities and organizations are working together to implement programs to help those who are suffering from drug addiction and mental health issues. Sheriff Lemma said that he hopes to be able to use the money received from the American Rescue Funds to get started. 2. Presentation by the Romano Law Group Mr. Romano said that the goal of this litigation is to abate and prevent this type of thing from occurring in the future. An allocation proposal has been reached with the State CITY COMMISSION MINUTES JUNE 289 2021 WORK SESSION MEETING and its political subdivisions as presented in the resolutions that are action items on tonight's agenda. However, payments will not be disbursed until the end of the year and at this time Mr. Romano does not have a dollar amount. 3. Presentation ABM Building Services Deputy City Manager Tom George explained that conversations began with ABM when the Mayfair Golf Club project began. Mr. George introduced Hector Samrio who presented a PowerPoint presentation. Mr. Samario said that a feasibility study was done on about 25% of city facilities to determine if it makes sense to invest long term. Mayor Woodruff asked if this would come before the Commission for action. Mr. Bonaparte asked the Commission for direction. There was a consensus among the Commission to discuss this item at the August 9, 2021 meeting. 4. Regular Meeting Items — additional information 5. Briefing Items 6.
