ORDINANCE NO. 3219
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 3075 AND ITS AMENDMENTS, AND ADOPTING AN
AMENDED CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY TO DELETE THE FOUR (4) "POLICE OFFICER"
POSITIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY POLICING TEAM (CPT)
PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City conunission of the City Of Sanford, Florida, enacted
ordinance No. 3146 on March 22, 1993, which amended the classification and Pay
Plan to establish four additional "Police Officer" positions subject to and
concurrent with continued grant funding associated with the agreement entered
into by the City of Sanford and the Sanford Housing Authority to establish a
Community Policing Team (CPT); and
WHEREAS, the City commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, determines
that funding for the CPT program is no longer financially feasible; and
WHEREAS, current grant funding expired on March 8, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the city Commission Of the City of Sanford, Florida, is no longer
able to fund the program with interim, temporary general funds.
NOW, TNEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA.
SECTION 1: That the preceding clauses are adopted as if fully set forth
herein.
SECTION 2: That the terms of ordinance No. 3146 are hereby rescinded.
SECTION 3: That Ordinance No. 3075 be an the same is hereby amended to
provide that the amendments to the Classification and Pay Plan attached hereto
as Exhibit "A" are incorporated herein by reference and are made a part of this
Ordinance as fully and completely as though they were fully set forth herein.
SECTION 4: SEVERABILITY. That all Ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 5: CONFLICTS. If any section or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be
held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other section or part of this
OrdinanCe.
SECTION 6: EFFECTIVE DATE. That this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
