3138 ORDINANCE NO. 3138
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 3 OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE TO PROVIDE REVISIONS
TO SECTION 3-23(B) , CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN
PUBLIC PLACES, SIDEWALKS OR STREETS; PROVIDING
CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Sanford City Commission of the City of
Sanford, Florida, to amend Chapter 3, Section 3-23(b) of the City Code amending
CO Alcoholic Beverage laws contained therein.
c~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
c~ SANFORD, FLORIDA:
~- ~- SECTION 1: Section 3-23(b), of the City of Sanford Code is hereby amended
m ~_ to read as follows:
~. a~ (b) It shall be unlawful for any person to consume, possess or carry in
any cup, glass, can or other open or unsealed container in the City any
alcoholic beverage while on or in any public place, sidewalk or street
as herein defined, except on occasions when the consumption of
alcoholic beverages is authorized by permit of the City Commission.
SECTION 2: The Code of Ordinances of the City of Sanford, Florida, be and
the same is hereby amended in accordance with the terms, provisions, and conditions
of this Ordinance. Further, that the sections of this Ordinance may be tenumbered
or relettered to accomplish said amendment and the word "Ordinance" may be
changed to "Section", "Article", or any other appropriate word.
c~ SECTION 3: If any section or portion of a section of this ordinance provides
~- to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair the validity,
o force or effect of any other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict hereby be
o and the same are hereby revoked.
=- ~ SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
