AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA ENACTED
PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 6, BUILDINGS, SEC. 6-3. FEES, OF THE
CITY CODE TO AMEND THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR BUILDING PERMITS
INCHEASE FEES TO PROVIDE FOR THE COSTS, INSPECTIONS AND
ENFORCEMENT SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY,
CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the cost of providing inspections and enforcement services
have risen substantially over the years;
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Sanford to change
the fee schedule to coincide with the cost of providing services.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Building Permit Fees for buildings (new construction
and alterations) shall be as follows:
Base building permit fee .............................. $35.00 plus
Fee per $1,000 value of construction .................. $ 4.00
SECTION 2: Building Permit Fees for Structures Other than
Buildings:
Base permit fee ....................................... $25.00 plus
Fee per $1,000 valuation .............................. $ 4.00

SECTION 3: Additional Permit Fees (New Fees):
1. Update building permit if work is not complete within 180 days of
issuance .......... 50% of original permit fee
2. Restamping, recertification/approval of unaltered plans:
a. residential plans ................................... $ 35.00
b. commercial plans .................................... $ 5.00 per page
minimum fee ......................................... $ 35.00
3. Alterations to residential or commercial plan, review, approval,
documentation (A charge will be made for each separate request as an
event, not item by item)

........................................................ $ 35.00 minimum
4. Extra set of plans for builder.. ......................... $ 2.00 per page
5. Duplicate copies of certificate of occupancy without record search:
a. mailed .............................................. $ 6.00
b. called for .......................................... $ 5.00
6. Roof Pemit with building petit ........................ $ 10.00
(if by roofing contractor)
7. T~porary Comercial Certificate of Occupancy ........... $110.00
(includes prepower agre~ent)
8. Prepower agreements ..................................... $ 60.00
SECTION 6: If any section or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be
held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other section or part of
this ordinance.
SECTION 7: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the s~e are hereby revoked.
SECTION 8: That this ordinance shall become effective ~ediately
upon its passage and adoption.
