3076 ORDINANCE NO. 3076 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1688 AS ENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1850 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2067 PROVIDING FORAN ENDED PENSION PLAN FOR POLICE OFFICERS TO INCREASE BENEFIT RATES FROM 2.75% TO 3.00% AND TO PROVIDE MINIMUM CITY CONTRIBUTIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sanford, Florida, desires to amend the Police Officers' Pension Plan to increase the monthly retirement benefit. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2067 is amended to read as follows: SECTION 3: The monthly retirement benefit shall equal three percent (3.00%) of Average Monthly Earnings, for each year of Credit Service. SECTION 2: The amended retirement benefit rate is retroactive to September 1, 1991. SECTION 3: If any section or portion of a section of this ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional it shall not be held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other section or part of this ordinance. SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
