PROVIDING FOR ~ AMENDED PENSION PLAN FOR FIEFIGHTERS
TO INCEASE BENEFIT ~TES FROM 2.20% TO 2.44% AND TO
PROVIDE MINIMUM CITY CONTRIBUTIONS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVE~BILITY, CONFLICTS ~D EFFECTI~ DATE.
~EEAS, it iS the desire of the Sanford City Co~ission to mend
Section 3-2A of Ordinance No. 2068.
NOW THEEFOE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF S~FOE,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Section 3 Benefit ~ounts and Eligibility, Subsection
2, Retirement Benefits, A, Normal or Delayed, is mended to read as
SECTION 3: BENEFIT MOUNTS ~D ELIGIBILITY 2. Retirement Benefit
A. Normal or Delayed - a Me~er retiring
hereunder on or after his Normal Retirement Date shall
receive a monthly benefit which shall co~ence on his
Retirement Date and be continued thereafter during his
lifetime, ceasing upon death. If, after papent
co~ences, the Me~er should become deceased before one
hundred twenty (120) monthly papents have been made,
papent will then continue to the Beneficiary until such
one hundred twenty (120) papents have been made in
total, at which time benefits shall cease. The monthly
retirement benefit shall e~al two and forty-four one
hundredths percent (2.44%) of the Average Monthly
Earnings, for each year of Credited Service.
SECTION 2: The mended retirement benefit rate is retroactive to
Septe~er 1, 1991.
SECTION 3: If any section or portion of a section of this
Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional it shall not be
held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other section or part of
this Ordinance.
SECTION 4: That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the s~e are hereby revoked.
SECTION 5: That this Ordinance shall become effective i~ediately
upon its passage and adoption.
