AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA
ENACTED PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 6, BUILDINGS, SEC.
6-3. FEES, OF THE CITY CODE TO AMEND THE FEE
SCHEDULE FOR BUILDING PERMITS AND ELECTRICAL
PERMITS AND AMENDING THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR
PLFMBING, MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES
TO INCREASE FEES TO PROVIDE FOR THE COSTS,
INSPECTIONS AND ENFORCEMENT SERVICES; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the last adjustment for fees was in June of 1989
and the cost of providing inspections and enforcement services have
risen substantially;
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Sanford to change
the fee schedule to coincide with the cost of providing serviees.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Building Permit Fees shall be as follows:
VALUATION DETERMINATION: PERMIT FEES:
Residential $40.00/sq.ft.
Carport/Porch $18.00/sq.ft.
Garage $20.00/sq.ft.
Commercial $35.00 to $60.00/sq.ft.*
Warehouse $20.00 to $28.00/sq.ft.*
*Based on Actual Construction Contract Cost
Application Fee: $10.00
VALUATION APPLIED TO FORMULA BELOW DETERMINES PERMIT FEES FOR SINGLE
FAMILY AND COMMERCIAL:
$ 0 - $15,000 = $5/$1000
$15,000 - $100,000 = $75 plus $3/$1000 over first $15,000
$101,000 - $500,000 = $330,000 plus $1.50/$1000 over first $100,000
$500,001 - $ $1,000,000= $930 plus $.60/$1000 over first $500,000
Over $1,000,000 = $1,230 plus $.25/$t000 over first $1,000,000
MISCELLANEOUS FEES:
Reinspection Fee: $15.00
Swimming Pool: $20.00 + $5/1000
Moving Permit: $50.00
Demolition Permit: $15.00
Mobile Home: $20.00
Tent Permit: $20.00
Factory Built Housing: $20.00
SECTION 2: Electrical Fees shall be as follows:
Application Fee: $10.00
RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL:
Alteration, Addition, Repair $20.00
Change of Service $15.00
NEW RESIDENTIAL:
0 - 100 amp service $30.00
101-200 amp service $35.00
210 & up am service $40.00
NEW COMMERCIAL:
Per amp service $ .25

SECTION 3: Mechanical Fees shall be as follows:
APPLICATION FEE $10.00
SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL $43.00 (FLAT FEE)

Each Additional Water Closet-Add $ 5.00
NEW & EXISTING COMMERCIAL:
Each Plumbing Fixture, Water Heater
Floor Drain or Trap $ 3.00
Each Gas Piping System $ 5.00
Minimum Fee: $25.00

SECTION 5: Sign Fees shall be as follows:
SIGN PERMIT FEES: $10.00
Signs - up to 10 sq. ft. $2.00 over 10 $5/100 (of cost for sign)
sq.ft. and up to 50 sq.ft.
Signs - over 50 sq.ft. $100 for the first $5/100 (of cost for sign)
50 sq.ft. plus $.20 for each additional
sq.ft.
Temporary Mobile Signs $20,00
Banner Signs $10.00
MISCELLANEOUS FEES:
Reinspection $15.00
Maps Individual $ 5.00
800 Scale Map $10.00
Letters of Reciprocity $ 5.00
Hand Carried $10.00
Comp Cards:
Master: $60.00 every two years
Journeyman: $30.00 every two years
Initial Fee for Comp Cards:

Journeyman $50.00
SECTION 6: If any section or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall
not be held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other
section or part of this ordinance,
SECTION 7: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 8: That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
