AN O~INANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFO~, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CI~ CODE, ARTICLE II, DEPARTMENT OF
FINANCE, BY THE ~DITION OF SECTIONS 2-20 AND 2-21
TO PROVIDE A FEE FOR ~CASHED PAY~LE CHECKS
OUTSTANDING IN EXCESS OF SIXTY (60) DAYS AND
EST~LISHING A FEE FOR RETURNED CHECKS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFO~, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Section 2-20 is hereby added to the Sanford City
Code as follows:
Uncashed payable checks fee: A fee in the amount of $5.00
per month shall be charged on all uncashed pay~le checks outstanding
for more than sixty (60) days.
SECTION 2: Section 2-21 is hereby added to the Sanford City
Code as follows:
~turned checks: A fee in the amount of $i0.00 shall be
charged on all checks returned to the City for non-sufficient funds,
account closed or any other reason other then bank error.
SECTION 3: If any section or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall
not be held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other
section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
