(HGD-LC40) Test Method: ANSI/AAMAINWWDA 101 /I.S. 2-97, "Voluntary Specifications for Aluminum, Vinyl (PVC), and Wood Windows and Glass Doors. " (HGD-LC40 36 x 80) TEST SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION General: The specimen tested was a. combination prime entry door/single hung entry system measuring 37-112" wide by 80-314" high overall by 2" thick. The active leaf measured 34-718" wide by 78-314" high. The active leaf members were separated by a, Styrofoam core. The main frame and window members were not thermally broken. The active leaf stiles and both top and bottom rails measured 4-114" wide. The active leaf corners were mitered construction using four 4) stainless steel rivets and aluminum corner gussets each. The main frame was of double screw butt -type corner construction. An extruded aluminum threshold was used at the frame bottom with an overall interior vertical height of 1" Four (4) 3"x 3"steel butt hinges were used for door leaf operation. Two (2) stainless steel rivets per hinge were used to fasten them to the main frame. Each hinge incorporated. one (1) (#6 x 1-114") screw to fasten the jamb to the test buck. One (1) stainless steel dead, bolt was located at 37-112" from the top edge of the lock stile. One (1) cylindrical lock was located at 43" frorn the top edge of the lock stile. Stainless steel keepers were located at, the lock jamb at lock positions. Single Hung General: A series "3500" single hung window was employed into the active leaf ineasri.ri.ng 27-314" wide by 60-112" high overall. The active sash daylight opening measured 22- 118" wide by 25-718" high. The fixed lite daylight opening measured 23-112" wide by 26-518" high. The active sash was removable via a single block and tackle balance located at each jamb. Frame a.nd sash members were not thermally broken. One. (1) metal, tarn -type sweep lock was located at mid -spars of the top rail of the active sash. A sweep lock keeper was extruded onto the interior fixed meeting rail..A nylon stile cap was used at the top of each active sash. stile. The fixed meeting rail was fastened to each jamb with a single screw. The frame and sash were of double screw coped corner construction. An extruded aluminum jamb liner was snap -fitted t each jamb. Weatherseals: A single strip of bulb vinyl weatherstrip was located at each door frame member. A single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.360" high) was located at each active leaf stile and top rail. A single strip of polypi,le weatherstrip (0.120" high) was located at each aluminum jamb liner. A single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.300" high) was located at the single hung sill. Double strips of center fin weatherstrip (0.210"high) were located at the active sash meeting rail. Weeps: No apparent weeps employed. (HGD-LC40) Test Method: ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA 101 /I.S. 2.97, "Voluntary Specifications for Aluminum, Vinyl (PVC), and Wood Windows and Glass Doors. " (HGD-LC40 36 x 80) TEST SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION General: The specimen tested was a combination prime entry door/single hung entry system measuring 37-1 /2" wide by 80-314" high overall by 2" thick. The active leaf measured 34-718" wide by 78-3/4" high. The active leaf members were separated by a styrofoam core. The rnairt frame and window members were not thermally broken. The active leaf stiles and both top and bottom rails measured 4-1 /4" wide, The active leaf corners were mitered construction using four 4) stainless steel rivets and aluminum corner gussets each. The main frame was of double screw butt -type corner construction. An extruded aluminum threshold was used at the frame bottom with arr. overall interior vertical height of 1" Four (4) 3" x 3" steel butt hinges were used for door leaf oper-ation. Two (2) stainless steel rivets per hinge were used to fasten them to the main frame. Each hinge incorporated one (1) (#6x 1-114")screw to fasten the jamb to the test buck. One (1) stainless steel dead bolt was located at 37-1/2"from the top edge of the lock stile. One (1) cylindrical lock was located at 43" from the top edge of the lock stile. Stainless steel keepers were located at the lock jamb at lock positions. Single Hung General: A series "3500" single hung window was employed into the active leaf uarneasing 27-3/4" wide by 60-1 /2" high overall. The active sash daylight opening measured 22- 118" wide by 25-718" high. The fixed lite daylight opening measured 23-112" wide by 26-5/8" high. The active sash was removable via a single block and tackle balance located at each jamb. Fraine and sash members were not thermally broken. One.(1) metal, tarn -type sweep -lock was located at mid -span of the top rail of the active sash. A sweep lock keeper was extruded onto the interior fixed meeting rai,l..A nylon stile cap was used at the top of each active sash stile. The fixed rizeeting rail was fastened to each jamb with a single screw. The frame and sash were of double screw coped corner construction. Glazing: The fixed lite and active sash were exterior glazed using 0.151" clear annealed glass with an adhesive hack -bedding and an aluminum glazing bead. Weatherseals: A single strip of bulb vinyl weatherstrip was located at each door frame member. A single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.360"high) was located at each active leaf stile and top rail. A single strip of polypi.le weatherstrip (0.120" high) was located at each aluminum, jamb liner. A single strip of center fin weatherstrip (0.300" high) was located at the single hung sill. Double strips of center fin weatherstrip (0.210" high) werelocated at the active sash meeting rail. Weeps: No apparent weeps employed.
