2099 ORDINANCE NO. 2099
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE CITY CODE ENTITLED
OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS, BY
CREATING SECTION 18-35 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
REGULATING THE HOURS OF OPERATION OF CITY
PARKS AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS
THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY,
CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Commission of the City
of Sanford, Florida to create Section 18-35 of the Sanford City
Code for the purpose of regulating the hours of operation of City
parks and providing penalties for violations thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY
OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Chapter 18 of the City Code Entitled
Offenses and Miscellaneous Provisions is amended to create
Section 18-35 for the purpose of regulating the hours of
operation of City parks as follows:
18-35 Hours of Operation of City Parks.
a) Except for unusual and unforseen
emergencies, City parks shall be open to the
public every day of the year during
designated hours.
b) Hours of operation of Ft. Mellon
Park, Randall Chase Park, Pinehurst Park,
Groveview Park and Coastline Park shall be
from sunrise to 11:00 p.m.
c) Hours of operation of all City Parks
not designated in the preceeding paragraph
shall be from sunrise to sunset.
d) The opening and closing hours for
each City Park shall be posted therein for
public information.
e) Any person who violates this section
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the
second degree and punishable as provided in
Section 775,082 or Section 775,083, Florida
Statutes.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of
this ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional
it shall not be held to impair the validity, force or effect of
any other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall become effective
