Existing lift station shall be abandoned after completion and successful operation of the new lift station. Sheet #6 contains details of the required demolition work. 2. Existing manhole shall be abandoned after completion and successful operation of the new lift station. Remove existing manhole to 3 feet below grade and fill manhole with Concrete to 1 foot above top of existing pipe. Backfill remainder of manhole with sand. 3. Plug existing 8" sewer line in manhole and cut and plug at wetwell. 4. Remove existing 36" and 4" piping. 5. Remove existing manholes, piping, valves, etc. and plug 36" diameter line to existing wetwell. 6. The existing barscreen structure shall be completely removed. Dispose of all concrete, equipment, pipe, etc. in an approved manner. Sheet #7 contains details from "As -Built" drawings of the existing barscreen structure. 7. Remove existing lines shown. Coordinate with installation of new manhole and sewer line shown on the site plan Sheet #4. 8. The existing grit chamber shall be completely removed. The Contractor shall coordinate all demolition with new work to ensure continuous full operation of the sewage treatment plant. B. All materials to be demolished shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be disposed of in an approved manner unless otherwise noted. C. All materials shall be disposed of in an approved manner by the Contractor. D. These drawings are provided to give the general scope of the extent of demolition required for these structures. Actual physical surveys have not been performed. Contractor must field verify all information shown for these structures.
