It appears that most of the light switches still have knob and tube wiring although the fixtures on the second floor have newer wire ( tied into knob and tube at some point). At this age the insulation of the knob and tube is beginning to crumble and should be replaced. The ungrounded wire should also be replaced for additional safety. The exterior panel is in good condition for its age and compatible breakers should be installed. The interior panel is old and needs to be updated. The home should be rewired and brought to code with smoke detectors and GFCI receptacles. Rewiring will take care of the inspection report issues regarding splices, exposed wiring and GFI's. SCOPE OF WORK Replace knob and tube and 2 wire circuits with 12-2 and 14-2 copper (with ground) Replace all switches and receptacles Install GFCI receptacles where required by code Install smoke detectors Replace 100 Amp interior panel Replace incompatible breakers in service panel GENERAL PROVISIONS All work shall be completed in a professional manner and in compliance with all applicable building codes.
