2047 ORDINANCE NO. 2047
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 27 "UNLAWFUL
ACCUMULATION" OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on May 22, 1989, Ordinance No. 2027 was passed
and adopted by the City of Sanford; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 2027 amended Chapter 11, Section 27
of the City Code; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission of
Sanford, Florida, to further amend Chapter 11, Section 27 of the
Sanford City Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY
OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Chapter 11, Section 27 of the Sanford City
Code is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 11-27. UNLAWFUL ACCUMULATION
~'f~w~ng"~'~ris, rubbish, junk, trash, cans,
papers, furniture, used building material or
appliances to accumulate on any lot, tract or
parcel of land shall be unlawful, except as
provided by Schedule B of the Land
Development Regulations. Allowing vines,
underbrush, weeds and/or wild growth in
excess of eighteen (18) inches in height from
the ground or grass in excess of twelve (12)
inches in height from the ground to develop
on any developed lot in the city, to the
extent and in the manner that it constitutes
or may reasonably become a menace to life,
property, the public health, the public
welfare, creates a fire hazard, or provides a
next and/or breeding ground for sandfliese,
mosquitoes, rats, mice, other rodents,
snakes, and other types of pests and vermin,
sha~l be unlawful and is hereby prohibited
and declared to be a public nuisance.
For the purpose of this section "developed
lot" shall be defined as: any lot, tract or
parcel that contains a structure and/or
improvements.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of
~his Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or
unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair the validity,
force or effect of any other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shal 1 become
effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
