1992 ORDINANCE NO. 1992
AN ORDINANCE OF TEE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCES NO. 1873 AND 1906 WHICH
ESTABLISHED THE HENRY SHELTON SANFORD MEMORIAL
LIBRARY AND MUSEUM BOARD BY REDEFINING THE DUTIES
OF THE BOARD, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY,
CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
THAT ORDINANCES NO. 1873 AND 1906 OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, IS
HEREBY ENDED ASFOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Delete Section 3(A) in its entirety.
SECTION 2: Add new Section 3(A) as follows:
A. The Henry Shelton Sanford Memorial Library and Museum
Board is empowered and directed to recommend on behalf of the
City ways and means of acquiring and providing for the security,
safekeeping and display of antiques, books, papers, paintings and
other similar possessions of the late General Henry Shelton
Sanford, the founder of the City of Sanford, Florida, together
with any other memorabilia or artifacts of historic significance
to the City and the surrounding area which in the opinion of the
Board would be of interest to the citizens of the City now and in
the future.
SECTION 3: If any section or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it
shall not be held to impair the validity, force or effect of any
other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 5: That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
