The board must determine if the work is in compliance with the approved CofAs. 307 W. 3r Street Item: The applicant sought approval for revisions to a previously approved Certificate of Appropriateness application (September 24, 2008). Status: Revisions were approved and all work has been completed per HPB requirements. (FS 286.0105) Minutes Historic Preservation Board August 25, 2010 — 5:30 PM City Commission Chambers City Hall, Sanford, Florida Members Present Delton Chen (Chairman) Hank Dieckhaus (Vice - Chairman) Mike Yebba Steve Chusmir Robert Kinney Others Present Larry Robertson, Development Services Manager Christine Dalton, Community Planner/Historic Preservation Officer Mary Muse, Administrative Coordinator Mr. Chen called the regular meeting to order at 5:30 PM. Minutes Mr. Chusmir made a motion to approve the July 28, 2010 minutes. Mr. Kinney seconded. All in favor. Motion carried 5 -0. Mr. Chen read the following into the public record: "Applicants are advised that any person aggrieved by a determination of the Board may appeal such determination to the City Commission by filing a written appeal and paying associated fees through the City Clerk's Office within thirty (30) calendar days of the Board action. Additionally, a permit may be required for any Certificate of Appropriateness approved this evening. It is the applicant's responsibility to inquire with the Building Department as to whether or not a permit is required for the approved Certificate of Appropriateness." Public Meetings Due to applicant for PM -1 not present at this time, the board agreed to consider PM -2 first. Ford Mr. Dieckhaus made a motion to deny the request to change the orientation of the porch flooring. Mr. Yebba seconded. During discussion, Mr. Chusmir asked Mr. Dieckhaus if he would allow the basket weave pattern or the 45 degree angle as depicted on the submitted drawing dated August 25, 2010. Mr. Dieckhaus amended his motion to include allowing the basket weave pattern or the 45 degree angle as depicted in drawing submitted by applicant dated August 25, 2010. Mr. Yebba seconded. All in favor. Amended motion carried 5 -0. Staff Reports Ms. Dalton distributed a Code Enforcement status report for the board to review. Mr. Chen requested a brief description of the violation be added to the report. Chairman and Board Items for Discussion After completing the review of the Code Enforcement document, the board agreed that each member will send an email to Ms. Dalton listing their concerns. After receiving all of the comments, Ms. Dalton will incorporate them into a letter addressed to the City Commission for the board to review at the next meeting and authorize Mr. Chen to sign it. At 6:12 PM, Chairman called for a short recess. At 6:17 PM, Chairman called the meeting back to order. Minutes — August 25, 2010 Historic Preservation Board Page 3 Schedule S Revisions After the review and discussion of the revisions submitted, Mr. Dieckhaus made a motion to approve the changes to Schedule S as presented. Mr. Kinney seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. 5 -0. Mr. Chusmir commended Ms. Dalton and made a motion requesting the Chairman address a letter to the Commission stating what an incredible job she did with helping the board rewrite the Schedule S codes. Mr. Kinney seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. 5 -0. Mr. Chusmir made a motion to approve the revisions to Schedule S and forward to the Planning & Zoning Commission and the City Commission for approval and adoption of an Ordinance. Mr. Yebba seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. 5 -0. Adjournment There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:35 PM.
