1770 ORDINANCE NO. 1770 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING ARTICLE VII, SECTION 10 ENTITLED "UTILITY POLES, FENCES AND WALLS USED AS FENCES" BY ADDING SUBSECTION (4) TO PROHIBIT BARBED WIRE FENCING WITHIN THE CITY AND RESIDENTIAL AREAS AND TO PROVIDE LIMITATIONS IN COMMERCIAL AREAS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERA- BILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. Article VII, Section 10, of the City Code entitled "Utility Poles, Fences And Walls Used As Fences" is hereby amended by adding Subsection (4) as follows: "(4) No barbed-wire fence shall be erected or maintained in any Residential District, except on property owned by a governmental entity or public utility. Barbed wire may be used on security fences erected in any Commercial or Industrial District, or in a Residential District within the exemption described above, provided such use is limited to three (3) strands, a minimum of six (6) feet above the ground. Such fences may be permitted in estate areas, on approval of the Board of Adjustment, after public hearing." SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of this ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitu- tional, it shall not be held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other section or part of this ordinance. SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
