SPECIAL WORK SESSION
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Work Session on
Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at 8:27 PM, in the City Commission Chambers, City
Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.
Present: Mayor Linda Kuhn
Vice Mayor Art Woodruff
Commissioner Velma Williams
Commissioner Randy Jones
Commissioner Patty Mahany
Interim City Manager Tom George
City Attorney William L. Colbert
City Clerk Janet Dougherty
Deputy City Clerk Cynthia Porter
Mayor Kuhn called the meeting to order at 8:27 PM and reported that the
purpose of this special meeting is to discuss and be fully informed of an agreement that
the City Manager is considering entering into with Police Chief Tooley for his retirement
purposes.
1) City Manager's briefing.
Interim City Manager Tom George said that he and Chief Tooley have
been discussing his retirement for some time and have negotiated an agreement. Each
Commissioner has been provided a copy of the agreement and has been briefed
separately on its terms. He intends to execute the contract this evening. There was no
objection.
