1714 ORDINANCE NO. 1714
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLOR/DA, TO
ADOPT THE 1983-1984 REVISIONS TO THE HOUSING CODE;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND
Ek'FH:CTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Ccmnission of the City of
Sanford, Florida, to adopt the 1983-1984 revisions to the Standard Housing
Code; and
WHEREAS, the adoption of the amendments to this Code is done
to facilitate proper inspection activities by the City of Sanford, Florida,
relating to construction and to maintenance of buildings within the
corporate limits of said city and relating to the prevention of hazards
such as fire.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA, that the following amendments to the Standard Housing
Code are hereby adopted by reference as though it was copied herein fully:
SECTION 1: That Section 14-1 (b) is added to Chapter 14
entitled "Housing Code" of the Sanford City Code, be and the same is hareby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 14-1 (b) Adoption of 1983-1984 Revisions.
The 1983-1984 Revisions to the Standard Housing Code, 1982
edition, prepared by the Southern Building Code Congress International,
Inc., is hereby adopted in its entirety by the city. One copy of same
is filed in the office of the city clerk as a matter of permanent record
of the city, and the matters and contents therein are made a part of this
section by reference as fully and completely as if set forth herein, and
such copy shall remain on file in said office available for public
inspection.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to ha invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not
be held to invalidate or in~air the validity, force or effect of any other
section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict barewith, be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
