1634 ORDINANCE NO. 1634 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 9-12 OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE BY ADOPTING THE 1982 EDITION OF THE STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION CODE~ AS PUBLISHED BY THE SOUTRERN BUILDING CODE CONGRESS, EX- CLUDING CHAPTER 15 THEREIN AND ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT THERETO IN ITS PLACE, AND ENDING SECTION 9-21 OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE BY ADOPTING THE 1982 EDITION OF THE NATIONAL FIRE CODES, VOLUMES 1-11; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ENACTED BY TBE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That Section 9-12 of the Sanford City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 9-12. Adopted, The Fire Prevention Code, 1970 edition, as prepared by the American Insurance Association be deleted and replaced with the 1982 edition of the Standard Fire Prevention Code as published by the Southern Building Code Congress. Said Code is hereby adopted as the fire prevention code of the city, three (3) copies of which code are filed in the office of the city clerk as a matter of permanent record, and the matters and contents therein are made a part of this chapter by reference as fully and completely as if set forther herein, except that Chapter 15 of this code shall be excluded, and such copies shall remain on file in said office available for public inspection. SECTION 2: That Chapter 15 of the Standard Fire Prevention Code as published by the Southern Building Code shall be excluded and the following shall be adopted as an amendment thereto in its place: 15.01. Scope. In every building, means of egress shall be installed and maintained in accordance with the provisions of the Life Safety Code as published by the National Fire Prevention Association, Standard 101-1981 of this Fire Prevention Code as Chapter 15 thereof. SECTION 3: That Section 9-21 of the Sanford City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 9-21. Adopted. The 1976 edition of the National Fire Codes, as prepared by the National Protection Association (NFPA) to be deleted and replaced with the 1982 edition of the National Fire Codes~ Volumes 1-1i. Said code is hereby adopted. One Copy of said code is filed in the office of the building official as a matter of permanent record, and the matters and contents therein are made a part of this chapter by reference as fully and completely as if set forth herein. SECTION 4: If any section or portion of a section of this ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force or effect of any section or part of this ordinance. SECTION 5: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.
