1565 ORDINANCE NO. 1565
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 11-12, a thru c
THEREOF, THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, AS ~NDED, SAID SECTIONS PROVIDING
FOR A SCHEDULE OF REFUSE COLLECTION FEES FOR
SINGLE-F~4ILY RESIDENCES, MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL
USES, AND BUSINESS OCCUPANCIES~ PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 11-12 a thru c, The Code of
the City of Sanford, Florida, as amended providing for a sche-
dule of refuse collection fees for single-family residences,
multiple residential uses, and buisness occupancies, be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
(a) For each "single-family residence", which
term shall embrace only a single building
and its premises for single-family occupancy,
and exclude any rental occupancy other than
the single-family, each "church", each "lodge",
which term shall embrace only nonprofit,
fraternal orgainizations maintaining build-
ings for their lodge purposes, and each
"nursery", such term embracing only educa-
tional buildings used for instruction of
children of pre-public school age, the fee
to be paid to the city shall be seven dollars
and twenty-five cents ($7.25) per month with
an allowance of not more than two (2) recep-
tacles, as required by Section 11-2 of the
Code of the City of Sanford, Florida, per
usage.
(b) For any multiple-residential use, including
but not limited to duplexes, apartments,
quarters or combination thereof, a charge of
five dollars and four cents ($5.04) per
family dwelling unit, subject however, to a
minimum of ten dollars and ten cents ($10.10).
"Quarters" occupancy is defined as several
single-family rental buildings of one owner-
ship on the same premises and serviced as to
other utilities through a single utility meter
or bill. No more than two (2) receptacles per
family dwelling unit shall be allowed as pro-
vided by section 11-12.
(c) For each business occupancy (which term shall
embrace any occupancy other than purely resi-
dential) the fees to be paid to the city shall
be as follows:

Provided, however, commercial establishments hav-
ing a volume of collections less than one cubic
yard per collection, the fee to be paid to the
city shall be mimimum of eight dollars and eighty-
two cents ($8.82) per month for two (2) collections
per week; thirteen dollars and twenty-two cents
($13.22) per month for three (3) collections per
week; seventeen dollars and sixty-three cents
($17.63) per month for four (4) collections
per week; twenty-two dollars and four cents
($22.04) for five (5) collections per week;
twenty-six dollars and forty-five cents ($26.45)
for six (6) collections per week.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of
this Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional,
it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force
or effect of any section or part of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all Ordinances or part of Ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: That this Ordinance shall become effective
the lS't day ofSeptember, A.D., 1981.'
