1446 ORDINANCE NO. 1446
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
DETERMINING THAT $1,003,527.00 IS THE AMOUNT
NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION IN THE CITY
OF SANFORD, FLORIDA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR, 1978-
11979 FOR THE ORDINARY PURPOSES FOR THE OPERATION
OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AND FURTHER
DETERMINING THAT THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY NECESSARY
~0 RAISE SAID AMOUNT SHALL BE 6.9 MILLS FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR, 1978-1979, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the amount determined necessary to be
raised by taxation in the City of Sanford, Florida, for the year
1978-1979 for the ordinary purposes of the Municipality is the sum
of $1,003,527.00.
SECTION 2: That the millage for the year 1978-1979
to be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of all
the taxable property, except homesteads to the assessed value of
$5,000.00 or less, and $10,000.00 or less in the event the provisions
of Chapter 74-11, Laws of Florida, 1974, apply to homesteads within
the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby
fixed at 6.9 mills, to be allocated as follows: Department of
General Government, 6.9 mills.
SECTION 3: That there shall be and is hereby levied
for the year 1978-1979 upon each dollar of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property except homesteads to the assessed value of
$5,000.00 o5 less, and $10,000.00 or less in the event the provisions
of Chapter 74-11, Laws of Florida, 1974, apply to homesteads within
the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax
of 6.9 mills: for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to meet
and defray the necessary and ordinary running and operating expenses
of the Cityof Sanford, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning
October 1, 1978 and ending September 30, 1979.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall become effective
on October 1, 1978.
